It Takes A Village

This was my first conceptual tree that was inspired by those 1000 piece puzzles that depict a quaint village where everyone is out having a grand time. And I had a bunch of tiny people brooches that I didn’t want to bury on another tree. This handmade, one of a kind Vintage Jewelry Heirloom Tree features a collection of vintage brooches, bracelets, earrings, pendants, rings, buttons and beads with the overlaying theme of a village in full swing beginning with the mother of pearl button road that runs along a babbling brook lined with flowers and river rock. As the road winds up the hillside you’ll find a policeman keeping a watchful eye, a donkey cart going to market, a jockey jumping his horse over a fence, a belly dancer by the river, a well dressed couple chatting, a man pushing a flower cart, a gentleman pulling his lady in a cart and a bulldog guarding the house at the base of the purple mountains where the clouds and sun in the blue sky give way to a dark and starry night topped with a beautiful crescent moon. The It Takes A Village tree is assembled on a 12 inch velvet wrapped cone and mounted on a vintage green oxidized brass candle stick for a combined height of 19 1/4 inches.
